i love that sound!! My family plan to visit Europe around travel to Germany for a couple of days on the year of my high school graduation, and I plan on buying my 2nd, better violin for college. Do u know any place that sells pretty good violins, maybe not the BEST but pretty good quality, deep richer more mellow toned violins?
hi, i just found your comment from 3 months ago…and i don’t know if i answered or not. i like pirastro, but yes, they are pricey. have you ever tried infeld red strings? nice warm, full sound…they’re my favorites and not too expensive
I love spending my free time watching your samples
What brand of strings do you prefer on you violin? i know not every violin respond the same way with the same strings, but i’m just curious. For no reason i like the Pirastro brand, but it is pricey >:O especially here in canada
there are differences between german makers and french violins of different periods. the makers from germany and france approach the construction and carving somewhat differently according to what i’ve read. i think the differences in sound are generalized. i’ve heard fantastic german violins and equally fantastic french violins. and i’ve heard amazing chinese violins
hi…sorry to say i didn’t take note…they weren’t new at all though. they had probably been on the violin for awhile before i played on them…i’m working my way through a collection of fine old violins.
sorry to take so long to reply…tough question, too. hmmmm, well my first full size violin was french, beautiful instrument, so i have a soft spot for old french violins. i’ve played some beautiful german instruments, though…tough question.
To learn the violin from the comfort of you own home, you just need to know where to look. You have complete control of the time you practice and to the speed in which you learn. It is a great way to learn the violin.
